An ear cuff does not pierce the ear. It slips on, shaped to follow the contours and rest in place without pressure or fastening.
At Lorn Jean, each form is sculpted with precision and balance. Asymmetrical by design, our cuffs follow the architecture of the ear — a curved composition refined to sit through proportion, not force. There are no backs or clasps, only the interplay between form and anatomy. A contour shaped to meet a curve.
To wear a cuff, begin at the upper ridge of the ear, where the cartilage narrows. Guide the opening over this point, allowing the piece to rotate gently and slip over the thicker section of cartilage. On our asymmetrical forms, the shorter end tucks inside the ear, while the sculpted arc curves behind. Once in place, the piece will align — held by the logic of its shaping.
It should feel comfortable and unobtrusive. Every contact point is refined; each surface is hand-finished to rest smoothly against the skin. The form holds because it has been shaped to — through process, not pressure.
Cuffs may be worn alone or in relation to other pieces. A single sculptural form can stand on its own or offer a counterpoint to earrings in the lobe. There is no fixed arrangement, only composition, and intention.
